Account Validation Requirements for Supplier Payment Accounts in the CSP

Review the minimum requirements for creating accounts to use as payment methods for your Coupa buyers.

When you create a payment method for bank transfers in the CSP, you often need to complete banking information. This information is then used by your customer (buyer) when they use Supplier Payment Accounts to pay you from Coupa.

This article describes the minimum requirements for setting your bank account to receive payments, but your customer may require additional information to be provided to them for confirming the validity of your account. All bank account remit-to details must be approved by your customer prior to receiving payment from them.

Figure 1.

Required Information

The table below outlines the required information for payment methods in the CSP according to the account country or region and currency. You go to Business Profile > Payment Methods to add and manage payment methods. For more information, see View and Manage Payment Methods Information in the CSP.

Here are a few tips for understanding the information you provide when configuring your accounts to use as payment methods:

  • Hover over over the information icons for details about individual fields.
  • Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.
  • Bank Account Country/Region and Bank Account Currency determine what other fields are required and the format of some of those other numbers.
  • Account Number / IBAN: The number of digits varies for different banking systems across the world.
  • Sort/Transit Code: Depending on country/region and currency combination, this can be Routing Number, Bank Code, BSB, IFSC, Sort Code, or Transit/Institution Number.
  • SWIFT / BIC Code: The Society of Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) code or Business Identifier Code (BIC) has 8 or 11 alphanumeric characters (first 6 must be letters) and is required to receive money internationally.
  • Phone Number: The country code is required and must match the selected country.
  • Remittance Email: Your contact that should receive payment information.
  • Supporting Documents: Your buyer may require documents for account verification when you share a payment method with them. For more information, see Add Supporting Documents for Bank Transfer Accounts.
  • Depending on the country and currency combination, additional information might be required (in other words, tax ID, contact information).
  • Do not use dashes (hyphens) in account numbers, routing numbers, sort codes or other fields.
Tip:

To avoid additional wire and banking fees, set your bank account currency to match your home country/region currency. Your invoice currency must match the currency of your bank account to process payments successfully.
